Four years ago my family and I came to the church. We all enjoyed the service and the people in the church. So we came many more times and finally became members of Bethel. Soon afterwards my sister started confirmation. It was a big deal in our family and I was excited for her. I actually wanted to get confirmed like her, but two years ago when I started confirmation classes, I wasn't exactly excited anymore.
I was scared through all of the first year. I wasn't really sure what I was doing or what was going to happen next. But this past year has really helped me get to know my friends in confirmation and they have helped me learn more and want to come to church. Classes were more fun this year and I liked the fact that I could relate to almost every story we learned about. This has helped me in many ways to become closer to God. I now know my responsibilities as a disciple of Jesus and have a better understanding of God. I know I am ready to become a member of the church and just as importantly I am becoming a messenger for God. Even when I make mistakes I know he is always there for me. This commitment I am making is my choice. It's the one I have chosen to make because I know that when you commit to love, trust, and help God; you will find that he has always been there doing the same for you. |
