Why I am giving my life to Jesus?
I am here today to accept my baptism and publicly affirm my faith in Jesus Christ. I have learned a lot in fifteen years and I now know that the Word must be spread to every person in the world. Today I accept God's call to take up the cross and proclaim my belief in him. I have put together a list of reasons why I should do this, so that if anyone should question me, I will know how to answer. “Why do you believe in God?” - He created this world and everything in it - He created me unique from anyone else - He gave me a loving family - He gives me food, clothes and other things I need to survive - He gives me friends - He gives me wonderful teachers through whom he teaches; and He has blessed me in other countless ways - He sought me out and brought me to Him, through the people He has placed around me and the experiences he's given me - He forgives me no matter how evil and wretchedly I act - He has given me thousands of opportunities to see his glory, through His world, his Word and His people - He is perfect - He placed me right where I belong - He suffered, was tortured, taunted, beaten, whipped and killed, all to save me from my own eternal death - He rose from the dead - He is my savior - He loves me more than I can possibly imagine These and innumerable other reasons are all cause for me to fall on my face and worship Him. I will give myself to Him; I accept the mark of baptism upon my forehead as a mark of His love and care for me. I accept His call to me and I commit myself to Him. This is the least I can do. He gave his life for me, so now I will offer my own to Him forever.
