Aaron

After two years of being in Conformation class and going on retreats we are to graduate. This past spring I and five other members of the congregation went on a two week trip to India. While there we visited multiple orphanages and crèches. My favorite place was the Angel Home in Rajamundri which houses only boys. While there I felt Jesus' strong presence. Looking at all the smiles and energy I never would have guessed that the boys living there were orphans. The boys slept on about a centimeter thick mat and owned only a suitcase full of possessions. Not once did I see any of them upset or angry about their conditions.

Christ knows what and how we feel because he felt the same emotions and struggled through the same trials. Jesus had a crowd of people mock and crucify him, even those who a few days before had called him a prophet. No matter what I do I can always run to Christ. My favorite parable is the Prodigal Son because the father showed his joy by celebrating. Even after squandering his father's money the son went back to ask forgiveness. Like the son who did not deserve his father's compassion and grace, I know that no matter what I do God is always there to wrap me in his loving embrace.
